PCOS Renamed PMOS to Address Misconceptions and Improve Care
Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is now renamed polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome (PMOS) after a decade of global consultation. This change, led by Prof Helena Teede from Melbourne’s Monash Centre, aims to address misconceptions that have delayed diagnosis and care for the estimated 170 million affected women worldwide.
