NSW public transport to run on renewable energy from 2027

New South Wales will transition its electric buses, trains, and light rail services to run entirely on renewable energy starting July 2027, following a $1.9 billion contract with Snowy Energy. This seven-year agreement marks the first time all public transport operations in the state will be powered by a single renewable energy source.
