Mother and daughter charged with slavery face Melbourne court

Kawsar Ahmad, 53, and her daughter Zeinab Ahmad, 31, face charges of crimes against humanity, including slavery, in a Melbourne court. They were arrested at Melbourne airport by the Victorian joint counter-terrorism team on May 8, 2026. Another woman, Janai Safar, 32, is set to appear in Sydney court on related charges.
