Labor Drops Permanent ASIO Questioning Powers Plan

Labor has abandoned plans to make the Australian Security Intelligence Organisation's (ASIO) compulsory questioning powers permanent. However, the government will expand the offences covered by these rules to include promotion of communal violence and attacks on the defence system.
