Ice Block Delays Hundreds of Everest Climbers at Base Camp

A large ice block on the route above Mount Everest base camp has delayed hundreds of climbers and local guides. Officials from Nepal's department of mountaineering have deemed the serac between base camp and camp one unstable and too risky for ascent. Assessments of the route are currently underway.
