Fiona Pardington's Bird Portraits to Feature at Venice Biennale 2026

Fiona Pardington's new portrait series, inspired by stuffed native birds in South Canterbury, highlights extinct and endangered species revered in Māori culture. The exhibition, titled Taharaki Skyside, will be showcased at the Aotearoa New Zealand pavilion during the Venice Biennale from 9 May to 22 November 2026.
